Gipsy Fantasies

In her second CD release, Gipsy Fantasies, Natasha Osterkorn devotes herself once again to traditional Russian Gipsy folk songs and romances, but in a style that clearly diverges from the traditional folk music interpretations of this genre. She engages her songs with a unique, creative energy. The piano arrangements in particular, which are untypical for Gipsy music, reveal an unexpected intimacy in the traditional themes.

This CD combines interpretations of selected pieces with Natasha Osterkorn's own compositions and reveals an artistically mature, innovative musician. She has found for this traditional genre a new, personal form of expression. Her texts, her virtuosic piano playing, and her rich voice lend a vibrancy and depth.
